RTO Mourns Train Operator Alan Ricks, 48

Members in Rapid Transit Operations are mourning the untimely passing of Train Operator Alan Ricks, 48, husband of Train Operator Cherese Winley-Ricks of Subdivision B.

Brother Ricks died at about 9 PM on March 15th in North Merrick, when his car crashed on the Meadowbrook Parkway south of Exit 6, according to Newsday. Both Ricks and his wife were residents of North Babylon. According to police, the cause of the crash is under investigation. 

Brother Ricks died after being transported to Nassau University Medical Center by EMS. He had 14 years of service with NYC Transit.

RTO Vice President Canella Gomez and Local 100 President Richard Davis expressed their deep condolences to Sister Winley-Ricks and their family. Members can pay their respects at the J. Foster Phillips Funeral Home at 17924 Linden Boulevard, Jamaica, NY 11434 on Monday, March 27, from 10 AM to 12 Noon. A Funeral Service will be held at the same location at 12 Noon on Monday.
