Major Organizing Win as TWU Local 100 Organizes Global Paratransit
The final tally was : TWU Local 100 - 331, No Union - 91, Local 621 - 19, and Local 322 - 8. It is essentially a landslide victory for Local 100. Our first order of business will be forming a real, democratically selected internal leadership committee to work with union staffers to win our first contract.
I congratulate the workers at Global, and welcome them into the strongest Transportation Union in NY, and across the country.
I would like to especially thank Frank McCann, Aquilino Castro, Curtis Tate, Tony Aiken, Liz Wilson, Shannon Poland, Ken Page, Tareque Ahmed, Joe Ruggerio, Chris Garvey, Dexter Victory, Antonio Roldan, Nancy Martinez, Paul Flores, Derrick Echevarria, Vanessa Jones, Brander White, Joseph Hayden, Erica Guerrido, Bernadette Murray, Damien Treff, Maggie Munoz, Jesse Mendoza, Hector Cartagena, Norma Lopez, LaTonya Crisp-Sauray, as well as numerous other staffers who contributed to our victory. Additionally, we greatly appreciate the efforts of Israel Landau.
This is a huge win for TWU Local 100. Our Organizing Department has firmly established itself, and we look forward to the challenges coming our way. We will continue to grow TWU Local 100!
